It is situated on the Baltic Sea coast, 11 km northwest of Bad Doberan, and 25 km northwest of Rostock. Kühl in German means … cold … so this is EXACTLY what it is. We woke up this morning and there was SNOW everywhere. Aside of that, it is a rather posh seaside town, one of the oldest baths on the Baltic Sea. Honestly, I like it, despite the fact that it is small and boring. Lots of seaside pensions, hotels, cafe, but not much else. The G8 Summit was held a few miles down the beach at Heiligendamm a little while ago. So …. lots of sand, wind, dunes, gulls .. and that’s pretty much it …
